Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Thomas Lampke heads the Chair of Materials and Surface Technology at Chemnitz University of Technology. The research activities of his professorship cover a broad spectrum from basic research to application-orientated and contract research, addressing numerous current issues in materials and surface technology. This includes the further development of various coating and treatment processes and their adaptation to modern material systems, the utilisation of new material properties through additive manufacturing and combination processes, the characterisation and design of interfaces and transition structures in hybrid composites as well as research into corrosion and wear mechanisms and material fatigue.
